Germany will look into after a leaked video of secret army discussions over Ukraine surfaced.

  • Following the disclosure of a tape that showed multiple senior German officers discussing the nation's war plan for Ukraine, Germany has said that it will launch an investigation.
  • Air force officers discuss the potential delivery of Taurus weapon systems to Ukraine during the conversation, which was posted online by Margarita Simonyan, the head of Russia's state-backed RT channel. They also talk about the possibility of targeting the Kerch Bridge, which connects the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia.

Two senior Russians are charged by the ICC with war crimes in Ukraine.

  • Two senior Russian military officials are the targets of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), which charges them with war crimes against civilians in Ukraine.
  • The two individuals named in the warrant were Viktor Sokolov, an admiral in the Russian Navy, and Sergei Kobylash, a lieutenant-general in the Russian Armed Forces.
  • According to the ICC, they are accountable for war crimes such as targeting civilians with weapons, inflicting severe damage on civilians, and committing crimes against humanity such inhumane actions.

Russian missile strike in Odessa, close to the Zelensky motorcade

  • Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, was meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday when a Russian missile strike looked to be directed for him. The missile landed close to his motorcade in the Black Sea port city of Odessa.
  • Greek sources told the news outlet Protothema that despite the missile hitting around 500 feet away, Zelensky and the other members of the Greek group were unharmed. A request for comment was not immediately answered by the presidential office of Ukraine.

Key Microsoft systems were compromised by Russian hackers.

  • The company stated on Friday that a hack initially revealed in January by Russian state-backed hackers had obtained access to several of Microsoft's core software systems, exposing a more significant and pervasive breach into Microsoft's networks than previously believed.
  • Microsoft stated in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that it believes the hackers had gained access to "some of the company's source code repositories and internal systems" in recent weeks using data taken from Microsoft's corporate email systems.

'Potential nuclear assault' on Ukraine was averted thanks to PM Modi's approach to Putin: Report

  • As Moscow's war against Ukraine raged in 2022, the United States reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other international leaders to request his assistance to stop a potential nuclear strike by Russia, CNN said, citing two senior administration officials.
