US President Donald Trump praised the resignation of FBI Director Christopher Wray, alleging that it will mark the end of the ‘Weaponization’ of the Justice department.
Trump accused Wray leadership of facilitating illegal actions against him and expressed faith as well as optimism about restoring the rule of law for all Americans.
He expressed his support for Indian-origin Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel’s confirmation as the next FBI Director, citing Patel’s qualification and commitment to restoring law, order and justice in the country,
President Trump emphasised the need for a strong yet fair justice system and stated his belief that how the FBI’s rank and file along with the American republic anticipate these changes.

Trump seeks to abolish Birthright citizenship in the US
In an interview with Kristen Welker, of ‘meet the press’ US President Trump expressed his intentions of abolishing the birthright citizenship enshrined in the 14th amendment of the US constitution hence, it terminates the rights of those born to undocumented parents, leaving them with the only option of deportation.
He expressed a desire to keep families united, during deportation and dreamers who entered the US as children, would be ensured to remain in the country. He supported this statement by saying “A willingness to collaborate with democrats and devising a mutually accepted legislation.”
Trump talked about the unauthorized immigrant crossings increased during Biden’s presidency but fell after recent actions; he even emphasized on border restrictions and violence linked to undocumented immigrants, proposing to deport mixed-status families together.

Tren de Aragua: the growing presence of violent Venezuela gang
The venezuelan prison gang, infamously known as ‘tren de aragua’ notorious for its violent tactics has expanded its operation to 17 US states, even an area as remote as dakota is impacted. West Fargo local police recently arrested Henry Theis ,a suspected member of the gang.
American media coverage and politicians have reduced this threatening gang to only a group of simple thugs and criminals. However, tren de aragua has been established as a transnational criminal organization sponsored by and embedded in the Venezuelan socialist government.
Authorities continue to track gang activity across the U.S., with a recent arrest near Mar-a-Lago highlighting their presence in Florida. Leaders, including Rep. Troy Nehls, stresses the urgency of securing borders to curb the gang's influence.

Wray steps down paving way for Patel
The current FBI head Christopher Wray whose term was not to end before 2027 has stepped down from his post paving way for the controversial Trump picked Kash Patel.
Wray has been the top most target of Trump owing to the FBI involvement in various investigations under his leadership. This includes the search warrant in Trump's Florida estate where they eventually found evidence against him for keeping aside classified white house documents.
Trump has recommended Patel for the post but it is to be seen how a clear majority can be attained for him in the 53 - 47 senate. Patel's pledgeJanuary 20, to target political opponents and dismantle the FBI's headquarters in Washington have raised concerns about the agency's independence so far.

US man's fake drowing lead to $35,000 search, returns home voluntarily
In August this year, a Wisconsin man,Ryan Borgwardt pretended to drown in Green Lake leaving his possessions behind He subsequently escaped to Eastern Europe but this led to a 50-day manhunt that costed around $35,000.
Ryan now has to pay the charges, he is likely to be charged with obstruction of law enforcement that was done to find him
Ryan stated that he fled the nation using an inflatable boat, an electric bike, and other forms of transportation after overturning his kayak and leaving his phone behind. He stated "personal matters" as the cause for his escape.
